“We inadvertently connected 120/240 volt campground source of power to our motor home while the 7kw, 120 volt generator was also providing power to the coach.  Normally, this would not be a problem, except in this case the transfer switch had a contact that had welded itself in the closed position, essentially paralleling the two sources of power.  The result was a burned out generator and a burned up surge protector.  The good news is that the surge protector did what it was designed to do.  It protected the electronic controls in the air conditioners, microwave, TV, etc, from damage.  We believe the use of the Lectra Shield surge protector is a good investment to protect all RV electronic devices.  Please pass the word to others.
