The Lectra Shield Power Line Monitor with Surge Protection is the only device on the market that deals specifically with the problems of high and low voltage for AC units without completely cutting off power to your RV. It is different from any power line monitor. Some power line monitors have either single our multi-mode (dual-mode) surge protection; Lectra Shield has the same Industrial Grade Three Mode Surge Protection as it does in all other Lectra Shield RV Surge Suppressors. Lectra Shield PLM w/ Surge protection does not pass through either high voltage (over 135V), or Low voltage (under 95V) to your RV's AC. Low voltage is not as serious of a threat to the other electrical systems of your RV, where high voltage is very much a problem. Lectra Shield is specially designed for equipment such as air conditioners, which need to cycle fully before power is restored. It has a three-minute delay when returning to power, after a high or low voltage event. On the high voltage side this unit has the same industrial grade surge protection as our hard wire and plug in Surge Protectors on the low side; you’ll only lose power to what your AC. Thereby protecting your AC and Compressor while still enjoying the many electronic conveniences of your RV.

It protects your RV's, air conditioner, (against damaging power surges and brownouts, which cause irreparable damage, and can shorten their operating life).
Operating Instructions
When first connected allow approximately 1 – 3 seconds for the unit to automatically calibrate itself to your particular power condition. The amber delay light will illuminate while this is happening. Install unit into the power line anywhere between the breaker panel and the AC. (I.E.) Phase (Black or Red) Neutral (White) and Ground (Green). Providing the power is safe the green light will illuminate the unit is now monitoring the incoming power minimizing the risk of equipment damage.
Damaging voltage variations will be instantly detected, one of two red lights will illuminate, indicating that voltage supply is either high or low. This smart unit has a built in delay circuit that stops resumption of power until a safe power voltage has been detected for approximately 3 minutes. Amber delay mode, Green light safe voltage, Red light either high or low voltage present.
